We wanted to end the album on a slightly different note, opting for a grand and melodic closer. Acoustic and piano passages give the song an ebb and flow similar to Departure. Lyrically, it's about how fear can paralyze you and keep you from reaching your full potential.
Thanks to Brandon for laying down some amazing vocals for this song. Make sure to check out his band Defending Cain!

lyrics
Am I more than the sum of my fears,
Or will trepidation define me?
Legs chained to the floor
Looking forward, never moving
Locked in a glass cell
I see the world passing me by
Merely spectating
Victim to the passing of time
Will I see the day
When I can leave these chains behind?
These thoughts are binding me
Keeping me from pressing onward
This is the power of fear
Restricting my true potential
Locked inside of myself
My mind is my captor
Staring through the bars
I see my end stepping forward
[ Solo - Connor M. ]
Will I see the day
When I can leave these chains?
Will I see the day
When I let myself free?
[ Solo - Jacob N. ]
I awaken to the sound of shattering
And find these chains undone
An extended hand reaches out to me
I have no choice but to accept

I dig this album so much, definitely a keeper. Subtly and masterfully mixing death metal subgenres, backed with an over the top production. They're true professionals. Can't wait for their next release! doive
Another seamless blend of extreme genres from Stortregn. Killer riffs, tasty basslines, and lots of fun tech influences in the composition and instrumentation make this an absolute banger front to back. Facepalming Panda
